First of all, we believe that there is no such thing as a 28 day fix for this issue. This takes time. Coming in for treatment is a tough decision to make. Your mind is probably telling you that you should be able to do this on your own, and that this really isn’t necessary at all. It might even appear to be a long time to be in a facility at a first look. Well, you didn’t get addicted in one day, and it takes time to do the work and unlock the stuff that is making you feel so uncomfortable with yourself that you have to use to change the way you feel. This isn’t about the substances or behaviours that you are addicted to. This is all about what it is underneath all of that. We rarely, if ever, talk about substances or the addictive behaviour at all in treatment. Because it isn’t about that at all. It’s about how you feel, how you think, your belief system, and your trauma or pain in your life. Addiction is a coping mechanism in your life, and it isn’t working for you. We can show you far better ways of coping with your life, and help you to deal with the trauma or pain in your life too. Our view is that until you process that, you will always go back to using to mask it.
We have two packages the we offer for residential treatment at Visible Recovery. First, we need to assess your suitability for treatment. That involves a meeting for about an hour with us, either at the facility if you live in SA, or if you are from interstate, we can offer secure video conferencing via a web browser. (There is no need for you to install anything on your PC your end). This offers us the opportunity of meeting with you personally, and gaining a complete understanding of your current situation, as well as you being able to see our facility, and hear about the program in more detail. The most important thing for us is that we are able to see someone that is literally desperate to want to change their lives. This is not for the faint hearted, and as the people that will conduct the assessment are also in long term recovery for their own addictions, and highly qualified, we have an incredible insight into what it means to be ready for treatment, to be ready for this massive change in your life. We will only offer those people that we feel are ready to do the work a placement at our facility. You see, this is not about your ability to afford to come in to private treatment at all. This is not some product that you can buy off the shelf at Coles or Woolworths. We take this really very seriously… we are dealing with peoples lives here. It has to be ethical. This is all about outcomes for our clients. We would normally be able to make that decision at assessment, and you will be told then if we would offer you a place for treatment, along with availability.
The “Freedom Package” is the main offer that we would suggest for the vast majority of the people that get to this stage. This is because we believe that the time it takes to get well, and the therapy that is required for this to occur can only happen in this time frame for it to be given the best chance of success. We may consider other options for some (but very limited) circumstances that might present, but the program we offer is based on our understanding of recovery, and what we think you would best benefit from. Collectively, between myself and my staff at Visible Recovery, we have over 85 years of recovery under our belts, and a raft of qualifications, so we absolutely know what we are doing here.
